Alexandra Dekanova is a Prague based creative, born and raised in Slovakia and corrupted by the world.

“When she isn't working, she's busy pursuing personal projects” she typed single-handedly while chewing on a slice of pizza, and waiting for another Netflix episode to load.

FAQs

1. Is your dad’s name also Dekanova?

Actually no. My father’s name is Dekan. In Slovak language, we automatically add ‘ova’ to all girls’ surnames when they’re born, just in case they would turn out to be hot tennis players when they grow up.

2. How is life in Slovenia? I mean Czechoslovakia, no Croatia!  wait.. Slov…where are you from again?

*rolls her eyes*: dekanova.wordpress.com/2016/09/20

3. How many cities have you lived in so far?

Nine. That is exactly nine times more than the number of times I said no to free food. *quickly double checks 0 x 9 = 0 hmmmmmm* No cities. No cities at all.

4. We hear you left Amsterdam a few years ago and moved to Hamburg. Why would you ever do that?!

I actually left Amsterdam for Berlin. Then Berlin didn‘t quite work out and I felt stupid returning back to Amsterdam just one month after I left it. Hamburg was on the way. I‘m hiding here ever since.

5. Are you a true Amsterdammer when it comes to bicycles?

That depends. If you’re asking whether I would carry 5 toddlers and a shopping bag on my bike while texting at the same time, I would probably say no. I would also most likely still choose an Uber over a 47min ride in a hail storm. But hey, I’ve broken an elbow when crossing tram rails, bonus points?

Lived in New York City without health insurance.

11. Is it a good idea to have a different password for each social media account?

9 out of 10 social media experts recommend having the same password, because, well, it’s easier to remember.  The 10th expert has also confused clickbait with “just good marketing", so you have the answer.

12. Why does it always rain on me?

Because you probably live in Hamburg. It rains a ton.

14. Which word do you misspell the most?

I tend to confuse "sitting on a couch" with "sitting on a coach". Magically, no harassment accusation yet.
